About Us

Why Choose Us?

“Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”

– Theodore Roosevelt

Are you tired of endless phone trees and big call centers at other institutions where you can’t speak to a live person? Are you tired of re-explaining your story to someone over and over again because you can’t contact the same staff member you’ve been speaking with?

Have you ever been in a specialist’s office and felt your concerns were dismissed by the doctor or you were rushed to a diagnosis (and perhaps a surgery)? Ever left the office without any idea what just happened only to spend hours doing your own research or having to speak to another doctor just to understand what the first one said?

The Jenkins NeuroSpine team takes time to listen to our patients to make sure we understand their problems first. Then, we look at your films with an eye toward what could be causing the problem.

We are a boutique concierge-style type private practice in the heart of the NYC area specializing in surgical treatments of the spine from the craniocervical junction all the way down to the sacrum. We collaborate with other clinicians both in and out of our specialty to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan to maintain your quality of life.

We turn patients back into people!®

“Most Compassionate Doctor”

Reviews

“This surgery gave Martha a new lease on life… one we never even knew we could hope for. I just couldn’t be more amazed at how far Martha’s come in such a short time. Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe it.”

Heather Dark

Fayetteville, Arkansas, Spinal Fusion Surgery

“Dr. Jenkins was very to the point, very thoughtful. It was a very effortless engagement and procedure… All in all, it was a great experience… I couldn’t be a more ardent supporter of his work.”

New Canaan, CT, Artificial Cervical Disc

“For the last 15 years of my life… I was using assistive devices. I had no balance. I’d fall down. I couldn’t go to the grocery store by myself. It was difficult to drive anywhere. I couldn’t do anything. And I just was in New York for three days alone at New York Comic Con. The last day I was there I had over 17,000 steps. I was lucky before the laminoplasty to have 700 steps in a day… But that is the drastic difference. I can function. I can do things. I can have a life now… Dr. Jenkins pretty much saved my life, my everything. My whole family is just so excited with what has happened.”

Michelle L. Jones

Peoria, Illinois , Cervical Laminoplasty

“Dr. Jenkins listens. He explains things well. He’s very congenial and pleasant and doesn’t make one feel incapable of understanding… I feel secure with him… He is wonderful and every operation I had with him was successful. I would go back to him again if there’s any problem.”

Ann Miller

Haverstraw, NY, L45 Direct Lateral Interbody Fusion (DLIF)

“Dr. Jenkins is one of the only people in the tri-state area or even on the East Coast, as far as I know, that is aware of my condition and treats and cures the condition… I’ve been told so many times that nothing’s wrong… I lost faith in the whole medical system. I was so beaten down… Dr. Jenkins’ office restored that faith – and still has to this day.”

Alyssa Dowd

Torrington, Connecticut, Bertolotti’s Fusion

“I can’t begin to explain how thankful I am for Dr. Jenkins’ help… Before connecting with his office, my local hospital didn’t see a problem. It was difficult to admit for a 16-year-old with big dreams. I felt heartbroken and out of time. I still remember the day I got home from school. My parents told me there was a doctor in New York who knew exactly what was going on with me. I couldn’t sleep that night. Dr. Jenkins’ confidence and kind personality put me at ease from our very first interaction… I’m truly happy the surgery was a success. I was able to heal and play my senior season… As time went on, my body started feeling better and, eventually, I was able to play freely… I was super glad to put my pads on again. I can feel my body getting stronger each day. I’m beyond thankful for Dr. Jenkins’ knowledge and skills.”

“I’m able to do so much more than I was for so long. I’m back to work full-time. I’m not using all of my physical therapy tools that I’ve spent thousands of dollars on. I can walk. I can lift weights. I can do dishes and laundry. I can go watch my kid wrestle, and not have to go lay down in the car in between his matches. I’m back to bartending. I can go shopping now. All of the things that people don’t think in their daily lives are awesome to do… Now I can cook a whole meal. I can host a family Thanksgiving. I am so much more active now. My husband says, ‘Let’s go do this,’ I say, ‘OK, let’s go!’ I want to thank Dr. Jenkins from the bottom of my heart for everything that he did.”

Michelle Mick

Beatrice, Nebraska, Bertolotti’s Resection

“I don’t think I could ever thank Dr. Jenkins enough for all the amazing things he’s done for me so far. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without someone like him who really cares. Without him, I know that I would still be the same person – depressed and really sad and feeling like I wasn’t going anywhere. Just at a standstill. Dr. Jenkins, I literally love you from the bottom of my heart.”

Sydney Owen

Atlanta, GA, Cervical Laminoplasty and Bertolotti’s Fusion

“Dr. Jenkins puts your mind at ease relative to, ‘Here’s what to expect. Here’s what we’re going to do. Here’s the potential impact,’ right? The man has got magic hands in my view. And that’s just the reality of it.”

Joseph Scavo

Lyndhurst, NJ, Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF)

“It must be hundreds of doctors and nurses and medical staff that were supposed to help me in the past several years, and they all missed what Dr. Jenkins saw before even walking in the room to meet me. He is an exceptional doctor… There is a whole group of people out there who know Dr. Jenkins saved my life and we will all be forever grateful to him.”

Christina Nadler

New York, NY, C12 Fusion

“Dr. Jenkins is very patient. He’s very knowledgeable and very trustworthy. I never doubted his diagnosis with me at all. When he told me I needed surgery, I thought, ‘OK, I’m ready to do this. And I know he’s right.’ Which obviously made me feel more confident going into the operation room, just knowing I had a doctor who I could trust and who would make the right decisions on the table for me.”

Natalie Palmieri

Garden City, NY, Bertolotti’s Fusion
“Dr. Jenkins reviewed all of my test results and proposed a less invasive solution to my problems. He took the time to explain my MRI, CT scan and X-rays and also revealed the extent of the stenosis by detailing the measurements he had taken from the tests. This was a total surprise to me. Two orthopedists and another neurosurgeon had viewed the same tests and had never taken the time to tell me my spinal canal was about half of the normal size and that my myelopathy could be relieved in a minimally invasive manner. Dr. Jenkins was the only one who took the time and had the empathy to look at the whole picture and tailor a solution to fit both the problem and the patient.”

Louis Casagrande

New York
“Dr. Jenkins had a simple, straightforward way of explaining what the problem in my spine was and how he was going to fix it. I had seen several different doctors throughout my journey with my back pain and he was the first to be upfront and honest about what I could expect from surgery. I was very skeptical about how much relief I would be getting as a result of the operation due to the many years I had spent in chronic pain. Although it took time and weeks of physical therapy, I am happy to say that I am pain-free and finally feel back to normal”.

Melvin McLean

New York
” Dr Jenkins did thoracic surgery on me that 3 other surgeons refused to do- too difficult they said- he never hesitated for a moment- explained exactly what he was doing and used a method that no other surgeon even Does-Every aspect was over and above professional! “

Josh Zaretsky

“For my cervical spinal stenosis, Dr. Jenkins performed a ‘hinged laminoplasty,’ a type of minimally invasive spine surgery that is approached posteriorly. It is an innovative operation rather than the more conventionally performed anterior fusion. After surgery, I was pain and symptom free and I didn’t have to wear a neck collar post-op (which apparently is necessary after an anterior fusion). He and his staff were terrific. He and his nurse practitioner, Sarah Nichol, were always available and answered all of my queries. I would highly recommend Dr. Jenkins.”

H.P. Goodheart

New York

“I have had spinal issues for many years and have seen many fine orthopedic and neurosurgeons. For me, Dr. Jenkins is the finest of them all. He is the one that I finally chose to assist me with the thoracic spinal condition that bothered me with increasing intensity over a period of several years.”
